Flights of fancy: lockheed c-130 hercules by amercom

He is a  fantasy snap of the lockheed c-130 hercules by amercom from giant warplanes magazine issue 15.

Some of these magazines and the models that go with them are quite nice looking.I think the lockheed c-130 hercules is one them best looking models in this collection.

In this fantasy picture the c-130 hercules is coming in to land . And thus the landing gear is already deployed . And there is low lying fog or cloud on the landing strip..But that shouldn't be a difficulty
for the crew of this plane.

Flights of fancy :maisto B- 24 liberator

For me a sign of a good quality  toy or model is its playability. That is , after you have got  the toy is it worth a second glance?  Or just thrown away?

I think the maisto B- 24 liberator fits in the first category .Because its cheap. So it is good value for money. Thus there is no risk of being disappointed. For example, you actually spin the propellors. And they dont break off.

So i thought ,what would  this toy look like in flight  were a person able to crystalise a moment of the imagination? The result is as you see above.

Thanks for looking at my post.

my maisto tornado marine reviewed

In this post I will  review my die-cast maisto adventure wheels  tornado marine
maisto tailwinds tornado marine

.I will take a look at the replica's good points .Then i will point out,if any, a few bad points. Finally  i will reach a conclusion to see whether this die-cast replica is a worthy addition to any collection  of die-cast plane replicas.
maisto tornado marine, another view

The die-cast maisto adventure wheels tornado marine  has many good points in its favour. Firstly. it is cheap. It costs less than six pounds in ASDA .secondly it s a very good representation of  the actual aircraft. The replica looks good at a distance and up close.Thirdly i comes with a sturdy display stand on which it can be positioned for display. The replica stays in one piece even when  the replica is displayed and takes a crash dive of the stand from the stand for whatever reason. Finally this is an officially licensed product. This is shown on the back of the packaging.

But does the maisto adventure wheels  tornado marine  have a few bad points against it? Well,.firstly ,the orange artwork for the package makes the replica easy to overlook on the shelves at first glance. It makes the plane look as though it was generic item that was intended for a  price-point retailer such as poundshop/99p store instead of being an officially licenced product that might be of interest to diecast plane collectors.

While the product is not expensive and is good value for money there is nothing about the packaging of the replica itself which inclines a collectors to keep it.But perhaps this was deliberately done to showcase the replica and not to distract a buyer's evaluation of the replica .If that was the case then this packaging tactic worked because the buyers attention is focused on the replica and not the packet. So this bad point is not really a bad point because it would be a shame to keep it in its package and undisplayed.

Therefore in conclusion there are more good points in favour of the maisto adventure wheels tornado marine  than there are,if any, bad points. This is a worthy addition to any diecast plane collection. And kudos to Walmart/ASDA ,Maisto and the original trademark owners for making this product available at a highly attractive and economical price point.
